What a fun book! When we first began reading it my daughter kept yelling that she hates green smoothies, by the end she wanted to try Anise's smoothie recipe! I love that this book includes all the recipes Anise makes plus some other yummy extras. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but they all look like winners and the directions are easy to follow. We loved the story and the cute illustrations. Winner for the whole family! Anise Loves GREEN Food Nathalie M Curabba Midori Yoshino Books Reviews
I love this book. Wish I had it when I was raising my kids to try new things & to get them interested in cooking. The illustrations are lovely to look at. Everyone who is hoping to get their kids excited about food needs this book.
A charming book. My six-year-old vegetarian grandson loved the story and we both had fun using the recipes with delicious results.
I really loved this book for my two little ones! It was the perfect antidote to Pinkalicious. I'm tired of reading books like that one describing green food as "yucky" (
My kids loved the pictures and story, and couldn't wait to try all of the yummy sounding recipes at the end. Highly recommend!
I absolutely adore children's books and I love cooking so I could not wait to get this book add it to my library. Such a sweet endearing children book with a surprise mini cook book at the end. The story is sweet and very well written, the illustrations are beautiful. As soon as It arrived my son and I snuggled togetheron the couch so he could read it to me. We both loved it! When we got to the end and saw the recipes he was excited to try some out. As soon as he is out on Christmas brake we plan on trying out all the recipes! Would recommend this beautiful children's book to anyone, and as a matter of fact I plan on purchasing a few more as Christmas gifts for my sister and best friend. 😍
I read this book to my 2 nieces and they went crazy over this book. At first they were cringing their noses at the green food but by the time we got the recipes they were jumping for joy. The book had them hooked from the very first page. Nathalie has the gift as a mom, trained chef, and nutrition educator to make healthy cooking fun for kids. The words and illustrations bring to life the joy in nutritious eating and the importance of engaging our kids in the kitchen at an early age. More Anise, please!
Both of my children LOVE the story. My 5yo daughter was so excited to hear the story of a little girl who dreams of becoming a chef and my son was excited to listen to all of the different green foods that she uses in the recipes. The story is very entertaining and the illustrations are are gorgeous and colorful. There are several recipes included from the story - we can't wait to try them out - especially the "Cricket Cupcakes." Many of the recipes are Gluten Free, Vegan, and/or Vegetarian.
I read this story for the past two nights at bedtime with my boys (ages 7 and 4). We all love it! It's especially meaningful that my boys love it because everything is usually about Star Wars and superheroes these days AND they have become increasingly picky eaters every month it seems. They love the book and are totally engaged, even adding green foods to the list "mama, she forgot pickles!" And then they wanted to talk about "what if we had a red day?" and "what if we ate yellow?" and coming up with all the foods of those colors (so I think the author has a series on her hands ) I will update my review after we try the recipes. Kudos to the author for this creative and wonderful book!
